Calibration Vertex Calibration Lab W.L.L. is an A2LA-accredited calibration laboratory (Certificate #7399.01) operating to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. We serve oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, food, and pharmaceutical clients across Qatar, with calibration capabilities spanning electrical, temperature, pressure, dimensional, mass & volume, flow, and optical (fiber optic / telecom) disciplines.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to join our quality team and support the day-to-day implementation of our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 management system. You will work directly under the QA/QC Manager, ensuring that every calibration leaving our lab meets the technical and quality standards our accreditation demands.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain the laboratory's ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality management system under the direction of the QA/QC Manager.
Review calibration certificates, worksheets, and raw data for technical accuracy, traceability, and compliance with documented procedures before release.
Verify measurement uncertainty calculations (per JCGM 100 / GUM) and ensure CMC values reported are within the lab's accredited scope.
Maintain document control: SOPs, work instructions, forms, and quality manual revisions.
Manage records for reference standards traceability, intermediate checks, and equipment calibration intervals.
Coordinate and participate in proficiency testing (PT) and inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) programs; analyze results and support corrective actions where required.
Conduct internal audits across technical and management requirements; track findings to closure.
Manage non-conforming work, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions in line with ILAC P14 and A2LA requirements.
Support the QA/QC Manager in preparing for A2LA surveillance and reassessment audits.
Maintain training and competency records for technical staff; assist in witnessing and signing off authorizations.
Support customer complaint investigation and response. Assist in management review meetings — data preparation, KPI tracking, and follow-up actions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering — Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related discipline. 2–4 years of experience in a calibration laboratory or in a QA/QC role within a testing/calibration environment.
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements (both technical and management clauses).
Solid understanding of measurement uncertainty estimation, traceability chains, and metrological concepts.
Familiarity with ILAC P14, ILAC G8, and A2LA / accreditation body requirements. Strong skills in MS Office (especially Excel) for data review and uncertainty budgets.
Excellent attention to detail, documentation discipline, and written English communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Internal auditor certification for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 or ISO 9001:2015.
Hands-on calibration experience in any one or more disciplines: electrical, temperature, pressure, dimensional, mass, or optical. Prior experience working under A2LA, UKAS, ENAS, or DAC accreditation.
Experience with LIMS or calibration management software.
